On the day that Maternal Health Africa (MHA) celebrated its second anniversary earlier this week, the team assisted with the complicated birth of a new baby at its new hospital in Tigray, Ethiopia.
In the past two years the Maternal Health Africa team has supported hundreds of mothers on their journeys filled with hope and transformative change. Since founding in August 2022, our unwavering commitment has been to provide safe childbirth and comprehensive maternal care in some of Africa’s most challenging environments is making a remarkable difference.
The very essence of our celebration is captured in this video of Ethiopian mothers rejoicing at the birth of a new baby at MHA’s March 8 Maternal and Child Health Centre in Tigray, Ethiopia coinciding with our anniversary. The immense joy that comes with every safe delivery is certainly worth celebrating. In just three months, this exceptional centre has become a beacon of hope, delivering crucial support to nearly 500 mothers and underscoring the transformative impact of our work.
Beyond Ethiopia, Maternal Health Africa continues to expand its reach through its work in rural Sierra Leone, offering comprehensive scanning and both predictive and preventative medical interventions. Wherever we are, our efforts are focused on transforming the lives of young, vulnerable women who face unimaginable hardships.
